Holiday Greetings from the Xpand Team

We wanted to take some time to thank you for a great year! We had an incredible 2019 and hope you did too. We’d like to take a few minutes to recap on the year.

CP24

December was a busy season for us! We had our first TV commercial showcased on CP24, one of Canada's leading specialty news channels. 

Vaughan Mills Kiosk

Earlier this year, we launched our first-ever retail location. Vaughan Mills is a mall north of Toronto. If you’re ever in the area, don’t hesitate to come to visit us! The Xpand booth can be found right outside of the Nike store near exit 4A. We have both the Quick-Release and the Original No-Tie in all colours – come by and pick up a pair of laces in your favourite colour!

Socks!

Joining the Original No-Tie and Quick-Release lacing systems are our new no-show socks. There are two thicknesses: the ultra-soft cushioned socks and the highly-breathable lightweight no-show socks. After our release to only those who pre-ordered, these are now available to order on our site! Take a look here.

Giving back

The reason we’re so proud of our new socks is the message behind it: socks are the most requested item at homeless shelters. For each pair of socks sold, we donate a pair to someone in need. These socks are distributed to homeless shelters across America. 

Xpand showcased on the QVC network

We had the opportunity to have our product showcased on the QVC network. The Original No-Tie system was sold through QVC in sets of 3. The goal was to get Xpand onto the feet of as many people as possible so that the world can feel the difference. The feedback from QVC and the customers was beyond positive as viewers around America were blown away by the no-tie technology. If you didn’t catch us live on TV, watch the recap here:

The Terry Fox Campaign

In 1980, Terry Fox ran 5,373 km (3,339 miles) across Canada to raise cancer awareness and money to fight cancer. Terry Fox and his message live on across Canada and throughout the entire world. This year, we participated in the Terry Fox campaign by donating $1 from all related purchases. With schools being huge participants of the Terry Fox campaign, we knew we had to help them out. Xpand donated $18,000 worth of Xpand no-tie laces to schools for them to share with their students participating in the Terry Fox Marathon. Read more here.

Future Products

At Xpand, we are constantly exploring new products we can reimagine and redesign. We have some exciting projects coming in 2020. We can't unveil the details just yet (Sorry!), but you'll be the first to know. 

Moving towards a smarter future

Xpand has long been known as a brand known for innovating. With millions of dollars of Kickstarter pledges from over 50,000 backers, Xpand has set the pace for innovating shoelaces. This mission won’t stop here. Xpand will focus on reimagining everyday items, allowing you to move smarter and take back the extra minutes in life. We’re very excited about what the future holds. Expect to see plenty more from us in 2020.
