Xpand Proudly Supports Terry Fox Day

Humans are born to roam, to move forward in life and overcome obstacles, one step at a time. Never give up.

Terry Fox Annual Run is here! In 1980, Terry Fox, a young man who had lost his leg to cancer, pledged to run across Canada in a “Marathon of Hope” to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Against all odds, he ran for 143 days and 5,373 kilometers before cancer spread to his lungs. The nation mourned the loss of this brave young man. In a year, he realized his dream of raising $1 for every Canadian for a total of 24 million dollars. Since then, The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over 700 million dollars for cancer research. Today, Terry Fox’s message of hope and determination lives on in Terry Fox School Runs all over the world, funding cancer research initiatives and mandates.

Terry Fox's Run across Canada

We here at Xpand, are proudly Canadian and want to pay tribute to Terry Fox’s legacy as one of Canada’s greatest heroes. Terry Fox’s courageous story is an inspiration and reminds us that our greatest strengths are empathy, perseverance and human ingenuity. In our everyday lives, we get up and try to find solutions to both tiny and seemingly impossible problems. We reach beyond ourselves to help others in their journey. In the darkness, we can find light and hope. Through community and goodwill, we can connect to a greater good.
